Headfirst is the debut studio EP by American singer-songwriter Marian Renta released on January 13, 2021. It explores themes of heartbreak, longing, and acceptance. Renta delves into these themes through storytelling and a play-by-play style of songwriting. Headfirst consists of four songs, all of which were written and produced by Renta herself, in a downtempo, dramatic style. Most of the songs are composed in a minor key, and feature Renta on piano throughout. Headfirst is a Drama-Pop collection with R&B and Soul elements. Renta's vocals are performed in a mezzo-soprano tessitura, and her vocals are performed through the use of melisma in the chest and head voice ranges.
